Each month, one or two students who have met the following characteristics will be chosen as a Student of the Month.
- Exceptional growth in their artistic abilities;
- Exceptional desire to learn and grow;
- Gone above and beyond what is required of them in regard to lesson material.
FEBRUARY 2012: EMILY
Emily is in the 7th grade and has been playing piano for 5 years. She says that she likes playing the piano because it's fun and "If you know how to play the piano, you can more easily transfer your musical skills to other instruments". Her favorite classes in school are band and science and she says her favorite food is chocolate. In her free time she likes to hang out with her friends. Emily is a very talented student - she grasps new material quickly, has a great sense of rhythm, and has a penchant for jazz music. Way to go, Emily!
